Canal Saint Martin

 Hello friends,

Today I'm high lightning two places close to the Canal Saint-Martin. The first one is a Café called La Chambre aux oiseaux situated on 48 rue Bichat 75010 Paris. A space decorated with beaucoup de gout: flower wallpaper, old furniture and vintage details and with a menu that offers fresh homemade drinks, delicious cakes or fantastic tea. visit the website La Chambre aux oiseaux

Just around the corner you'll find my second favorite place in this area: Bleuet Coquelicot on 10 rue de la grange aux belles. An inspiring florist with the most beautiful selection of seasonal flowers. Visit the website Bleuet Coquelicot

If you're not already familiar with the 10th arrondissement you will see that there's a lot of nice places/shops/cafés to visit!

Hope these tips can be inspiring and useful for you.

Conservatoire de musique

Francois and I took a walk in the sunny weather this afternoon and we found a cute little parc in the middle of no where. In the parc there was an old house, and after a bit of research we found out that it was a music school. I've never seen a place this beautiful. I hope I can do a concert here some day. soon.

I can feel spring coming

I went running in Parc Monceau yesterday and can you imagine that the roses were already blooming. That gives me hope. And spring feelings inspires me to find new nice places in Paris "smultronställen" (in swedish) - I've heard so much about a place called le Comptoir General - The wonderful blogger Sofia at Mokkasin wrote about it here - Doesn't it look inspiring? You just want to sit down in a chair, and stay all day - reading, working, taking pictures, drink tea, listen to a concert, look at all the people.
Yes this will be my weekend-pleasure.

I wish you a lovely day,

Mariage pour tous - biensûr!

Good evening ladies and gentlemen,

I normally don't talk about politics here on the blog but today I'm making an exception.
Because it seems as though I'm living in a country that is far more conservative than I thought...
Between 300 000-800 000 people from all over France started the year of 2013 by demonstrating against "le mariage pour tous" (A new law that will allow homosexual marriages in France ).
Men and women (with children?) were yesterday walking the streets of paris with blue and pink balloons, repeating words like "France need children, not homosexuals" claiming they weren't homophobes at all but only expressing their feelings.

Seriously we're not even talking church marriages here, so why was the majority of the people demonstrating catholics?
Some months ago I went to a sunday service in a catholic church in Père Lachaise because I don't mind praying together with muslims, catholics or jewish. But when the servant started talking about how we had stick together against the homosexuals to save our country I stood up and left. Because I don't believe that hate, mistrust and segregation bring us any closer to heaven.

Shouldn't everyone have the right to decide whether he wants to get married or not?
Why does it bother you so much MR "I have never actually met an homosexual but it just feels weird" or MME "It's not normal because they can not make babies the normal way and I don't like changing" - well wake up, things are changing and it's a good thing.

Where do you want to go?

Think about it.

I was 14 years old when I first came to Paris, holidays with grandma and grandpa, in late august I think. I didn't really have any expectations about that trip but what I was about to discover was a long lasting love story. I fell in love with the Haussmanian buildings, the cobblestone streets and evening light. The romantic atmosphere, the florists and monuments. It was like coming home.
One day as we were walking along the Seine my grand parents and I, we came across a group of musicians who were having a spontaneous outdoor concert for everyone who wanted to listen. We stood there for a while, enjoying the music, and then we continued our walk towards Notre Dame with smiles on our faces. I knew from that moment on that I wanted to come back, one way or an other. To do just that - play my music in the streets of Paris - surround myself with creative people and be a part of the parisian community.
And so in May 2009 I left Sweden for Paris, with my guitar on my back. And I'm still here, loving every part of my, not always so easy life. But I'm here and I'm doing what I love. and that means everything.

Where do you want to go?

Ada Ek

Hello friends,

Some of you might remember the recycle project I started last year in Leksand. I used vintage watch dials that I'd bought at a flee market in Geneva, and the extra details I sometimes added came from old jewelry I already had at home. I created a collection of mostly unique earrings that I later sold at the christmas craft market at school.
I never shared the pictures here, and since I sold them all the same day - I wanted to show you them now. Also if the interest is out there I could create a new collection.

Why Ada Ek?

Ada was my grand fathers grand mother - a true entrepreneur. She created her business in my home town Alingsås, and became a well known, hard working lady. She, and many people in my family, have become a huge inspiration for me. Ek is of course for Emma-Klara which also means Oaktree n swedish and stands as a symbol for nature and recycle.

Keep your hopes high

Some advice along the way from someone who's still learning:

Know what you're worth: Love yourself and what you do
Think big, or small if you want to keep things simple: But became aware of what YOU want
Encourage people: Everyone needs encouragement, think about what you can do for others
Surround yourself with positivity: Nothing tears us down like bad energy
Be eager to learn: Try new things - you might end up loving it!

And finally remember that in the word impossible- there's also possible - it's only a matter of attitude!
